Hello folks, updates at Deuce HQ! We've just finished a new short for another competition with our friends at Filmaka. This short is called Fail Hard. It's deals with our current economic crisis (that's right, the Deuce got current affairs up in here). It stars Andy Martin, QD regulars Phil McIntire and Jeff Green and the Deuce's own Brian 'Peppy' Peterson. Enjoy!
It's been quite a while since our last post. The Deuce has been mighty busy with many exciting new opportunities coming our way. Just recently we were semi-finalists in a competition by Ford to promote their new Mustang. Although we did not make the finals, the competition budget afforded us new equipment and a taste of HD filmmaking. Check out "002 vs. Dr. Buzzsaw Hands" right below. Also, stay tuned for exciting updates involving a little project with the FX Network we like to call, "UnReel."
We're still in negotiations with Filmaka about getting these shorts back into our video section, but Operation: Cutback, Fistful of Staples and Safety Seconds are BACK online! They are also joined by our latest short, and competitor in the Final Contest of 2007, Payback for Dummies!

Just a quick from-the-iPhone update... A couple people have asked why our flicks are no longer viewable on youtube... Basically anything we filmed for filmaka can only be viewed on their website for the first year. We're not thrilled about this, especially since you have to join to view most of the flicks. Initially we resisted their request to take them down, but after being assured the next version of the site will let us embed the flicks on our own site we took them down. We're working on a different way to get the flicks to you and will update soon.
Oh.... And Safety Seconds was selected in another festival. :)

Hey All! Lots to report..
First, Quad Deuce Studios is officially open! We moved into our new live/work space in Brooklyn on Jan 15th. Looking forward to a screening/housewarming party in early March.
New one day short! Check out Safety Seconds a goofy pilot for a TV show starring our very own Peppy Pepperson. (WARNING: His child-molesting moustache may upset some viewers)
Remember Fistful of Staples? The sequel to Operation: Cutback was our entry to Jury Level of the Filmaka short film festival. I'm proud to say that Fistful continued our run at Filmaka, taking first place! This secured our spot in the final level of competition, where we had to make one last short that will compete with the other winners of earlier mini-fests for a FEATURE DEAL. We wrapped the shoot early last week, and Rich is finishing a rough cut of the flick as I type this. I don't wanna jinx anything, or give too much away, but I think this is the funniest short we've made in a while. It is definitely the Deuce-iest. Here's a little taste:

Fistful is a semi-sequel to our previous short Operation: CUTBACK. This office/Western/Shoot-em-Up stars Jeff Green, Matthew Porter, Victoria Huston-Elem, Seth Salesnow and Philip McIntitre. It also features an AMAZING score by Rich DeCicco.

Staring Jeff Green and Philip McIntire with music by Rich DeCicco, Cutback takes a 9 to 5 office day and turns it into something a bit more spectacular. In case you haven't noticed, the Deuce has been busy. New icons, new sections, new look and more surprises to come. We're currently tackling some new short films and comics (thats right the comics page WILL exist in the near future!). As for our old pal Sharpie, we haven't forgotten it.
